Consumers in Texas are advised of their rights regarding complaints and potential recovery of certain out-of-pocket losses as provided by Texas law. If you believe you have been harmed by a license holder, you may be eligible to seek compensation through the Texas Real Estate Recovery Trust Account, subject to eligibility requirements and limitations.
The Texas Real Estate Recovery Trust Account was created to provide relief to consumers who have suffered actual damages caused by the acts of a license holder in violation of applicable laws. Recovery from the fund is subject to statutory conditions and limitations.
Payment from the recovery fund is not automatic and is not guaranteed. Eligibility is determined by the Texas Real Estate Commission in accordance with applicable regulations.
